I am glad you read it and I will skip it. I am more of a college bb fan, although I will watch the playoffs. Sometimes when writers go in with an outline or plan, the book can become tedious as they are trying to fit their words and thoughts into a format, rather than just writing what they want to say. I also find that with some other types of nonfiction, as when a great article from The New Yorker is stretched to a mediocre book.
Thanks, Kate! I'm definitely in the 'less is more' camp. It also frustrates me when something that was probably perfectly fine as an essay or short story is pumped into something bigger to try to get a second bite at that apple. Sometimes things just are what they are and that's all they should be.
