Yeah, I read Parable about ten years ago and I've been wanting to read it again. Somehow even ten years ago it's prescience didn't seem as on point as it does today. But I've kind of been dreading the reread because of how graphic it is, and the fact that my son is now the same age as Lauren (meaning he's the same age as her in real time-- both turning 15 in 2024) 😬 Do you feel like you will read the sequel?
Enjoy the break- we'll be looking forward to the next review!
Thanks, Maren! I'm mulling over whether to read the sequel. If I do, it won't be anytime soon. I was so worn out by the end of this one, I couldn't bring myself to read the excerpt of Parable of the Talents that was included in my edition. I'll have to gear up for it, for sure. In the meantime, I'm looking forward to a brief rest and I'm excited for the books I'm going to read in 2025!
Excellent review. After that book, you need a break! I think I have a copy, but now think I probably will not read it. Too bleak and stressful. My kid read The Road in HS English class and I flipped through it - it too was a solid no. Hi to Donna and read something lighter :)
thank you for the review and head’s up. hope you’ll enjoy your much deserved holiday break, MVP. another great year of reviews in the books! congrats! 🥳
Loved parable of the sower and i’m so glad you enjoyed it too. it was one of those books that i enjoyed as i was reading it, but has reverberated in my consciousness for so long after finishing it, it’s so impactful!!! Can’t wait for your review of Parable of the Talents! 😉📚
Thanks for all your great reviews and for leading me to wonderful new reads. I hope you enjoy your break.
Thanks, Brian! I'm looking forward to a brief rest, and I'm excited for the books I've got lined up for 2025!
