My first time reading you. The subject and writing are interesting but there are way too many jerkily moving images and I can't deal with them. They completely spoil the reading experience for me. I wish it weren't so!

Thanks, Mira. I appreciate the feedback, but the GIFs have always been a part of how I talk about books.

Great review Mike! I’m interested in reading Mother Doll BUT I have to say, I’m more sold on The Fish Book which I might try first 😉

I see. I'm probably just too old for this approach!

All the best to you.

Happy Easter! Great review as usual. Not for me, but I am glad you heard the author speak. Whenever I go to an author event, it always makes me want to read the book, or if I have read it, then I like it better!

Thanks, Kate! I’ve been trying to go to more events like these. It’s always interesting to hear how an author to writer approaches their work, what inspires them and what they hope we get out of it.

I have a blouse with the russian dolls on it. I don't find it very flattering, but I haven't been able to give it away because I like the metaphor so much. It sounds like it's handled in an interesting way in this book, going far beyond the ordinary.

Have you gotten your Fish Book tattoo yet??

I wasn't thinking about a Fish Book tattoo, but now I am!

Look up Josh Cook + Ducks, Newburyport for inspiration!

AS a fellow Two Dollar Radio fan, do you know about their tattoo run? :D I must say, I think about it all the time and will probably end up with one at some point.

I had no idea this was a thing, but I love it! The closest I’ve come so far is putting a Two Dollar Radio sticker on my computer!😂

I've also had a copy of Tacky on my shelf for ages because it seems like everything I'll love — going to go find it and pull it to read soon!

Tacky had been on my radar for a while. Rax King lives in my neighborhood and she gave a fantastic talk about personal writing at the local bookstore last week. It’s actually Donna’s copy that I borrowed for the picture lol!

Thanks, Resh! I'm glad the review piqued your interest in the book. I feel the same way, there are so many books on my list and not enough time to get to them all!
