Your options: 'The Places of Marguerite Duras' by Marguerite Duras with Michelle Porte, 'The Secret History of Kate Bush' by Fred Vermorel and 'Bento's Sketchbook' by John Berger
Thanks, Leigh! Just saying it could even make it happen--as Kate is in the lead! That website is nuts, but that book looks really interesting. Did you enjoy it? Definitely looks up my alley!
Duras and Kate Bush?! Stellar post 😍 I voted for Kate Bush. I used to blast Running Up That Hill when I lived in LIC in my 20s on the way to the subway into the city. God, what a time. I also go through phases where I play Wuthering Heights on repeat to heal the cracks from the day/week.
Thanks, Jenovia! You put it perfectly about her music: it heals the cracks. I love that! For me, it's doing laps around the 'Hounds of Love' album. In bleak times, Cloudbusting gets right into those cracks. 'Wuthering Heights' was a revelation for me. I tried it once at karaoke--a perfect song for that 😂
OMG YOU GET IT! Singing (or let's be honest...trying to) Wuthering Heights at the top of your lungs heals 😂 Cloudbusting is another one that stirs my insides. Ahhh! She's incredible.
All three, please. But most seriously snd urgently: the book about Kate Bush.
Thanks, Milena! That book is in the lead so far. We'll see how the vote shakes out, but I'd be very excited to read it!
I'm so intrigued by The Places of Marguerite Duras! I need to add it to my tbr as well 😂
Thanks, Nicole! It looks so interesting!
I can't believe I never heard of this Kate Bush book! I just ordered a copy for my fiance (and perhaps also for me!).
Thanks, Victoria! That’s exactly how I felt at the bookstore! No way I was leaving without it.
I think I need all of these.
I can’t resist a musician or band bio, so obviously I’m partially responsible for Kate Bush rising on this chart. I’m Running Up That Hill.
Thanks, Amy! It's in the lead so far!
I vote Kate Bush! I just finished this and it made me want to read the 33 1/3 book about Boys for Pele: http://www.instarbooks.com/books/tori-amos-bootleg-webring.html

It was extreeeemely nostalgic for me—if you like reading about online friendships and old websites, I would recommend!
Ok! Online friendships and old websites—sounds like my career! 😂
I love the inscription/notes in a book roundup idea!
Thanks, Jam! I think I have enough to do a roundup. We'll see how the schedule shapes up.
I love the idea of you reviewing a book that's maybe largely visual. So that's what I'm voting for. Bento!
Thanks, Justin! I’m excited by the idea, too!

Yes! And I'm glad so many people voted for it. I'm excited to read the book!
